Our History
The History of the Escape-Toi Group is one of passion for immersion and innovation. Since our beginnings, we have been shaping unique experiences that transform gaming into an unforgettable journey.
An adventure born from a passion for gaming
The Échappe-Toi Group was born from a simple ambition : revolutionize immersive entertainment by offering unique and interactive experiences. Through our various brands, we have been able to evolve and establish ourselves as a key player in escape games and fun immersion in Canada.
From the very beginning, we have sought to go beyond the simple escape game by developing innovative concepts, combining puzzles, captivating scenarios and advanced technologies. Our growth has been based on a constant desire to innovate and offer adventures that leave a lasting impression.
History
Échappe-toi and Find the Key were the first escape games to offer immersive adventures in Quebec in October 2014. Vortex Montréal opened in 2018 on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
The health crisis that began in 2019 led to a reorganization of the escape game sector. Echappe-toi, Find the Key and Vortex Montréal decided to merge to form the largest escape game group in Quebec.
Play is the basis of the exploration of living beings and their evolution. Playing allows us to progress towards a better knowledge of ourselves and others. Agreeing to play means agreeing to (re)discover our humanity.
We create scenarios where participants can play immersive adventures with professional actors. These escape games are based on themes related to local history and culture.
With the bankruptcy in September 2021 of the French leader in the design and creation of escape games, a team totaling more than 350 successful projects was looking for a roof to express its creativity. So we created Kryptex, which is now present in Montreal and Saint-Etienne.
In 2023, we took over A double tour, the leader in escape games in Quebec City.
In January 2024, the Échappe-Toi Group launched the first Musi’Quiz quiz game in Canada.
The evolution of the Échappe-Toi Group
🔹 Launch of the first brands – With Échappe-Toi Montréal, we introduced scenarios inspired by local history, making each adventure immersive and authentic.
🔹 Expansion and diversification – Building on our success, we expanded our offering with Find The Key and Vortex, offering even more advanced experiences in terms of game mechanics and immersion.
🔹 Creation of Kryptex – In parallel with the operation of our escape games, we have developed Kryptex, a division dedicated to the design and manufacture of escape boxes and interactive elements for the entertainment industry.
